A wonderful beginning to a healthy day with a staple breakfast that energizes the body for any upcoming tasks. I am a very health conscious person so I wanted to start my day with the best nutrition. I learned that oatmeal is perfect. Not only can it help lower your cholesterol, it can help control your weight and lower the risk of type 2 diabetes.

  • 1/2 Cup Steel Cut Oats
  • 2 Cups Water (or Skim Milk)
  • 1/4 Cup Flax Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar

Step 1

Mix the oats, water (or skim milk) and flax seeds into a slow cooker.

Step 2

Cook on low for 3 hours.

Step 3

Add the brown sugar before serving.

Step 4

You can also add a banana, any type of fruit, nuts or raisins to this meal.
