These are super simple and delicious, and a pretty healthy alternative to regular beef burgers. I got these from a cookbook my mom bought me when I moved into my first apartment in college. I always make these on an indoor grill cause they’re all I have, but I’m sure they barbecue really well too.

  • 1 1/4 Pounds Ground Turkey
  • 1 Package Fresh Pesto (or make your own)
  • 4 Whole Wheat Pitas
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Avocado

Step 1

Mix the ground turkey with the packet of pesto.

Step 2

Form into four equally sized patties.

Step 3

Grill them on Medium-High heat about 5 minutes per side or about that total on a Forman or similar grill. Make sure the juices run clear.

Step 4

Serve them tucked into warmed up pitas, or buns, whatever you prefer. I've garnished these with avocado, cheese, veggies, and a roasted garlic mayo I'll be sure to add the recipe for soon!
